when you start your account with your existing google account

you have a webpage select add site and enter the url of your website

then you will be asked to confirm that you own the site by one of two ways


either by adding a certain meta tag google will give you its code

or adding an html page to your website with certain name which google will give you

and click the button to confirm now

but if you own a blog,the only confirmatory way is meta tag and add it to your layout html between head and body and preffered that you add it just under head tag
